Maximize Your New Year's Resolutions

Are your New Year goals beginning to be put to the test ? Not to worry - help is at hand

illustrationIt can be about this time of the year, or maybe earlier, when all the good intentions of New Year’s Resolutions begin to be tested. The credit card statements are in and it may still not be the weather for taking a walk in the evenings with it being dark and cold. So, what seemed like good ideas at the time, and they are, like going on a diet, getting fit or stopping smoking may now be becoming a bit difficult to keep going.

Even though we understand such things as the benefits of a good diet, safe recommended drinking levels, the fact that stopping smoking would have a tremendous impact for good on our health and that dealing with emotional distress and exercise is vital, it takes a mental makeover to put that understanding into practice and keep it going.

That’s where Mindfulness can help. By using the well established principles, skills and techniques of mindfulness, you can learn to interrupt self- defeating and irrational thoughts and become more focused on your well-being and the values in your life.

With Mindfulness you will become better able to cope with cravings and urges and deal more effectively with those triggers, habits and automatic reactions that seem to control so many of our lives.
